Beyond
the screen
Enhancing in-person sessions with digital tools.

Missing the full potential of digital tools
I love doing therapy in person and have always had success engaging my clients with my favourite games, stories, drawing exercises, and pretend play. However, I noticed that many of my clients were drawn to technology, whether it was playing games, journaling or creating digital art.
I wondered, instead of seeing screens as distractions, what if I could use them as a tool for deeper engagement and connection? What if digital tools could help my clients express themselves?
Bringing digital tools in person to the therapy room
That’s when I started using PlaySpace’s digital tools, like the 3D Dollhouse, Sand Tray, and AI Storybook Builder, in my in-person sessions. They quickly became a natural part of my work and increased engagement with my clients.
With PlaySpace, I can:
- Help clients express their feelings creatively with the 3D Dollhouse and Sand Tray, in ways traditional materials can’t, so they feel more in control
- Let clients create or co-create stories from scratch with the AI Storybook Builder, a fun, creative way to explore emotions and share experiences
- Make sessions more engaging and familiar, since many kids and teens are already comfortable with technology
What changed, with PlaySpace
Using PlaySpace in my in-person sessions has changed the way I help kids express themselves. With PlaySpace, I can offer more ways for kids to communicate. Whether they use the digital dollhouse to talk about family or the sandtray to show their emotions, they get to choose what works best for them.
Technology isn’t a barrier, it’s a tool that helps make therapy more creative, flexible, and engaging.
